Spent some time online gaming! Somewhat... Hrmm... CoH, Lineage 2 (oooh!), a lil' EQ2 and EQ-Mac, WoW... Updated/patched GW, but still haven't bought the Factions yet (still L9 W/R).

There is still sandblasting and other outside stuff on the building ongoing still... Came home late Saturday, to find lots of dust (and some sand) in the kitchen (window was open) ... Guess I'll clean up the kitchen later on... And I still haven't really straightened/cleaned the apartment up... I hope they finish up soon... can't sleep in with all the noise (7-8am!?) At least they didn't work on the building Sunday.

Saw "Fearless" Saturday afternoon... Not historically accurate on some things (I think?) but overall a very good movie... I really wanted to see Tanaka knock Mita on his arse... But it never happened... (then again, Harada's character wasn't really knocked about either, in "The Last Samurai"... Ah well...) Think I will add this to my DVD collection when it comes out... Thought of watching "Guardian" as well, but will probably do that another day... Not many of the previews caught my attention too much. Seeing the poster for "Transformers" was cool. Can't wait... Jul 4 though!? Did play a few games in the game room, waiting for the rain storm to pass thru... Galaga, Ms Pac Man and some others...

Luckily, I browsed Old Navy, but didn't buy anything! Next door was the Art Store, wasn't so lucky there (only bought a couple of things). Best Buy, looked about, but ooooo'd and ahhhhh'd at the new Home Theater display they were setting up. Passed on buying things there too.

Went back to work Sunday (bleh) ... Still mulling over the idea of a condo perhaps... Need to invest in something and not waste so much money with renting... I just need to figure out the tax deductable bits, since I primarily do 1040EZ's... Co-worker (who got his realtor's license a few months ago, thus can look at MSL listings) and supervisor was talking some things about it (home or condo)... If I plan to stay in Chicago longer, might as well... I like my neighborhood (know most of the lil' shoppes)...

One day, the apartment will be clean! Uh, maybe... (perpetual procrastinator...)

Umm. Hrmm... Friday, and the weekend and stuff. Err... yeah.

Uneventful, I think that about covers it.

Saturday: I do remember getting out for a nice bike ride in the morning. Spent much of the evening trying to avoid a headache and waiting until I was tired enough to go to bed.

Sunday: Slept in nicely. Very much a blah day though. A bit emotional, was (am!) really missing friends, places, and routines back in SoCal. Spent awhile on/off "staring into my mind" as I've called it. Trying to remember and forget. Yeah. We were trying to clean up around here, parents have a big BBQ gathering soon. I moped about and helped a bit here and there, but not much.

Highlight of the weekend was watching the Formula One race, at Shanghai this weekend (recorded, it started at 1030p Sat. night). Was a wet race, with changing conditions, and some of the best and most interesting racing in a long time. Ended with the top two in championship points (Schumacher and Alonso) tied, with two races left in the season. Gonna be interesting.

Played a bit in WoW. Warlock is now 14 and my undead warrior is 8.

Picked up Lucky Number Sleven on recommendations in another thread and thoroughly enjoyed it. Also Revenge of the Sith finally made the movie channel on the TV. The CGI effects were awe inspiring - maybe they should have allowed the same computer to write the plot and dialog 'cause they came over like something the directors dog had thrown up.

"Kill him!"
"That is not the Jedi way"
"KILL HIM!"
Zzzzt!.
"I shouldn't have done that"

And that was one of the better exchanges. Arrgh. Later I watched Fantastic Voyage (the miniaturised sub thing with Raquel Welsh) and I have to say that I enjoyed that repeat far more that RotS.

This weekend I realized it's literally impossible to find a pair of the classic style black Dr. Martens boots in the Twin Cities. I think I'll have to order a pair online.

Sunday I put up some picutures on the walls in my office and moved my PC from the desk to the floor, and now my network connections are gone. Since we got new phones (connection runs through the phone) I haven't had good luck. I don't have admin rights at work and I didn't want to make it worse, so, today I'll have to endure glares from the help desk guys.:redface1:

Good luck on your first day at the new job, Dan!

I've decided to take today off for mental wellness.

Friday: DNP - quiet evening at home.

Saturday: All day renn-fest with two sets of friends. Exhausted.

Sunday: Bell choir in am, was going to go to Fest for Carol's birthday but were too tired - ended up napping on couch for a couple hours. Played DDO last night and got the access to the marketplace quest completed.

Friday: I know I did something but I can't remember what anymore. Oh yeah I had my second OB/Gyn appointment. It went well, I heard the baby's heartbeat fairly quickly so everything seems good. Other then that didn't do too much in the evening we did go out to Melting Pot to celebrate atty's 65 hours of unemployment, but that was about it.

Saturday: Drove down to Richmond. Hung out with various family members, got to play with the baby some. Not much else went on.

Sunday: Went to Mass for the Christening, went to the church basement afterwards for food and chatting. Headed back to my grandparents and packed up then headed over to my aunt's for about an hour to hang out with everyone again before we headed out. Got home went to the grocery store and did some quick shopping. Got home played DDO and had dinner, then logged, read a bit and went to bed.

The only bad part of my weekend, is I ordered a computer online last week. So Saturday FedEx had it out for delivery, not a problem we weren't there, so they should have just tried delivery again on Monday. However, instead of that they left the package with one of my neighbors. Which wouldn't be a huge problem except it is a computer and the neighbor they left it with is one I don't even know. So I am kind of annoyed, plus the neighbors weren't home last night so I couldn't even get the computer. I am kind of annoyed by the fact that they left my computer with the neighbors when they had no clue if this was acceptable or not, and could have just come back today.

Heh, i was just coming downstairs to amend my post.

The rotty didn't do anything terrible - he was just overly playful, but her arm was in the wrong place and got a nasty bruise and one tooth broke skin. Ouch!

Friday - Watched Doctor Who and some stuff I had on TiVo. Played Calliandra for a bit, getting her to level 18.

Saturday - Did housework, then caught up on some more of my TiVo. Got Wilkin to level 10.

Sunday - Went in to work for a bit, then came home and worked on homework for a while. Got Kaerik to level 18. Also watched Desperate Housewives (not really sure why anymore; it keeps getting worse and worse) and Dexter.

Friday: A group of LoW WoW players joined me for some Zul Farak action, we added a paladin as well, Leeroyx. It was me, Sumire, Belaine, and Drason. It went very well. We had 2 deaths, other than that, it was perfect. We got through the Bly scenario without dying. I got my 3 quests finished. Thanks to everyone who helped.

Saturday: Played a little WoW earlier in the day. Got Charity to level 50.

Sunday: Church, got the car's oil changed, cut the grass, bible study, played PS2 with Ben, read him more of the Pheonix Saga, played a little WoW with Charity in the Blasted Lands. Watched some more of Brothers and Sisters last night. It was good.

hm let's see.. friday was work and then I shopped for a new shirt and tie for Thundy (purple, it was very nice (http://www.menswearhouse.com/media/images/products/division80/864723075/864723075_F06_DF_v4_m56577569830525138.jpg) )

Saturday some laundry and then Thundy and I went to a bar mitzvah here (http://www.sorabji.com/_/albums/Terrace_on_the_Park/DSCN4364.jpg). It was an insanely gorgeous night in New York, the view of Shae stadium... (http://www.bovinity.org/images/parties/barm/barmi02.jpg) the food was decent, dessert was SPECTACULAR, chocolate fondue, every kind of cake imaginable, bananas and cherries flamb? made to order.. brie so ripe it ran right into your mouth on its' own..

Sunday we did a lot of laundry and almost finished the Tranix quest in EQ2.

LOL! More like the line, "I dont get it"

fri: had trouble with my satellite and was told it would be about 930pm before i had internet so I took the kids to see "Open Season (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0400717/)". It was cute and all. Not to bad for a kid movie. Got home and internet was still down so I watched tv until it came back up. Did the ZF thing.

sat: celebrated a birthday (not mine obviously) dont remember if I played WoW any.

Sun: went to the church here for their annual fair. Spent lots of money on crappy toys (sorta like a chuck E Cheese type thing). Came home, tried to play a bit of WoW but didnt stay long. Over all a pretty much stay home weekend.

Friday: Netflixed Stick It. That movie now ranks right up there with Bring It On in my "not a great movie but I can't stop drooling" category.

Saturday: Played some Civ4 while watching college football. VT got stomped by GT. I knew it was going to happen. There was no reason in the world VT should've been ranked in the top 25 let alone number 11. It's just silly.

Sunday: Spent the morning getting ready for the Skins game and then at noon left for said game. And what a game! I'll admit I had zero faith that the Skins would even keep the game close. Then they go and win it in such dramatic fashion. It was awesome. We had so much fun.

FRI - Took the day off work to get stuff done around the house and post a bunch of Ebay auctions. Time to sell off all my extra swag from GenCon and Origins, plus some other assorted stuff. Played some Guild Wars in the evening, knocking out most of my remaining quests.

SAT - More work around the house. Went out with my wife for dinner at Smokey Bones and some browsing at Barnes and Noble. Bought the kids a couple of books. Came home and watched "The Unit" and "Smith" recorded earlier in the week.

SUN - Soccer game for the boy. Bengals game on TV. They lost, convincingly. They'd been playing so well it was only a matter of time before overconfidence and accumulated injuries sank them. Too bad it was at home against the Patriots. Oh well. Big pot of Western chili for dinner, some "Amazing Race" on TV, then checked my Ebay stuff and played Dungeon Siege 2. While I appreciate the effort to add cutscenes and a story to DS2, they really needed to hire a professional writer. It's laughably bad, even for a video game.

lots of tradeskilling/harvesting at times, a bit more work on ozeki, a lil fun in Sol E & SoS with the vent crew here and there.

tagged young ozeki along behind kal, zold, boosie, taas, & tas thru all of LS & the front of sol E to get him doubled gear access - prolly the first caster ogre ever in EQ2 to get that at level 43 =p

only died once too, and that was deep in sol e, and cause of my own stupid fault for running off somewhere thinking i was followin zoldan safe only to see lots of grey aggro running at me.

funny story, tasiana was on vent this weekend and i was giggling cause it turns out tas is really a gurl! i was convinced she was a guy cause everytime nezumi came on she'd /gu HEYA BRO!!! Howya doin!?!? so i always pictured tas as bein a dood =)

was good as Oz needs to hit 44 before he can get out of the low 40s duldrums & now he's almost there (yay permafrost). marl picked up a few lvls out of lack of ability to find Oz some groups, and got to trail 5 of SBS, and did a great nek castle run (just need ollie for lockets quest). deepfred got 30 tailer, and got a ton of harvesting done for both marl & himself.

a little PS on friday iirc, but nothing inspiring. hopin to get ozeki a few levls in the 40s this week.

Try an industrial shoe store, there is one on University Ave. in St. Paul. I had to get steel caps when I was still working in manufacturing and this is where I got my brown ones. I bought the Dr. Martin shoes but the store also had boots.

I love them, I would get another pair but the company won't buy us sales guys steel toe shoes. Little do they know that my current black wingtips also are steel caps. Gotta protect them toes ;) .

Friday: Great adventures with several guildies (and one non guildie if I remember correctly). The Deadmines were fun. Thanks to a guild reminder I "watched" Dr. Who in the background while playing but didn't really pay much attention to it. What I did see was interesting. They already announced the DVDs go on sale in January.

Saturday: Had a 10k race. It went well and I set another PR for myself (No that doesn't mean I won anything, but it does mean I did better than I've done in the past). In the afternoon Draeken and I played the Settlers of Catan game.

Sunday: Had a 5k race. It went well. I didn't set another PR but was within 30 seconds of the PR I set a week or two back. Then did some grocery shopping and lounged around the house. Popped into WoW long enough to repair Ztath's stuff but really didn't feel up to playing.

I plan to play tonight but am tired so won't likely play late.

Had a great weekend! Friday night, can't remember.
Sat, spent time working on a yard project for a friend for the midday, followed by spending some family time at Chuck E Cheese. I used to go there back when it was called Showbiz, and I miss those days terribly. This was the first kids restaurant I've been in, ever, that made me edgy. Bleh.

Sun, church morning, then went around my neighborhood taking a community needs survey for a friend. (If anyone's interested, please let me know and I'll PM it along. It's targetted for my area, but any area will work.) Spent the evening watching Ghostbusters, which I'd not seen in years (decades?)!

Went to the state fair Saturday with the in-laws and the kids. We got to see a goat Halloween costume competition. Yes, goats in costume. We also went to the petting zoo, ate a Fletcher's corny dog and walked around a lot. We attempted to hit the ferris wheel but the Midway was packed shoulder to shoulder. Pushing a double stroller through a crowd that tight was just too much chaos.

My bro-in-law loaned me some PS2 games; Ratchet and Clank, God of War, Blood Rayne(?), Burnout, and I ♥ Katamari Damaci. I don't love Katamari Damaci, that is the name of the game, which I continue to not see the point.

I got hooked on God of War. Bloody! Bloody! Bloody! Oh, and m00bs! I ♥ God of War! :lowlol:

EQ2: Zyzzyva joined a LoW group in the Poet's Palace. He managed to reach level 65 while there.

EQ1: Seems there's a new expansion that came out recently... it added a new race (Drakkin - humans with some dragon blood who worship Veeshan). I created a Drakkin monk on the Xegony server, and got him to level 5.

Friday: I joined the LoW crew in Deadmines and had a blast! As so often happens, the adventure ended with a TPW but Van Cleef died so we ran back and looted his corpse. I didn't win the cape (which is why I went) but I had a really nice time.

Then I made a bunch of potions for the ZF run and headed to Tanaris. We didn't have a tank so we invited one and 45 seconds later, Beliane logged in. Since Jennifer was already asleep on the chair and I was feeling really tired and the lowest level of the bunch, I offered to sit it out. I did, however, wander over to see the dungeon and then decided to try a couple of the mid 40's elites there. First one died pretty easily and I got 852 exp for it. Another one gave over 900xp for the kill   .
Being the nice guy that I am, I cleared the area of uber-trolls so my guildmates would have a nice, easy entrance to the dungeon.

Yeah, I know. Its a burden being this nice :lowrazz:

Saturday: Evenstarr and Sagari logged into WoW in the morning and had a romping good time for much longer than we should have. I dinged 47 and she dinged 44 while we ran through a variety of quests in Feathermoon and Feralas. Then we logged to eat lunch and watch some footbal.

Watched Georgia Tech put the BEE in Beemer Ball as the Yellow Jackets stung the 11th rank Hokies at home. :goodie!: :goodie!: :goodie!:
Then we were supposed to go out to dinner but our friends called and canceled (they couldn't get a sitter). So we ate at home, watched A&E's Agatha Christie version of "The Blue Train" and read some before crashing.

Sunday: Church, Brunch, Yardwork / Housework (beautiful day for it  ) then watched the Redskins shock me by actually winning a tight game against a good team!! Finished the night with a good dinner and reading some more.

Monday: Hope to play WoW tonight.

Friday: Working on clearing some older quests in WoW and ended up grouping with a couple of people working on the same quest. I was higher level then I should have been so it was fairly easy then I noticed one of the others in the group was a 60 so it explained some things.

Saturday: Picked up my 1/4 cow at Guenter's and spent a good part of the day cramming all the meat into the freezer. I actually think that the freezer is bulging.

Played WoW in the evening and grouped with another person to finish an orb quest. Died a few times and was resurrected by someone which was nice. I never had that happen before. I finished the quest before my other party member did so I stayed on longer then planned to help him complete ths also.

Sunday: It was decided that I would paint our new front door so loaded up the car to pick out paint. Ran into my best friend from High school at Home Depot which was fun.

Got home and peeled the plastic off the door, TSP'd door, filled in the nail holes and hammer marks (not sure now if it was worth going with the budget installer) sanded and then realized I would need to TSP door again to get rid of the dust. Primed, painted, cleaned up and was too tired to play. Door looks good though. Now I get to stain the interior portion of the door.

Best part of the day was when not only did the Twins win but Detroit lost giving them the American League Central title! Nice end to the afternoon especially after listening to the Vikings pathetic display.

Friday night like Murgos and Sagari have already said that we went to Deadmines to play and I used Azshaeler as the only healer Druid in the group. What a challenge being the healer since Druids are like the back up healer to a priest or a Pally. There casting heals are alittle slower than the others but I managed with only 2 deaths of the group. We had a great time and Azshaeler was able to get 2 blue items one a staff and a cape. After that I went with a group of LoW WoW players to Zul Farak, A non guildy a paladin joined us which was named Leeroyx. The group consisited of Sumire, Belaine, Charity, Leeroyx and Drason. We had a blast especially guarding the top of the stair way where wave after wave of mobs rushed up the stairs. In the end we survived but I would like to go back there again soon.

During the weekend I still played Drason in the battlefields and inched closer to lvl 50. I have only one bubble to go till I hit 50 and hopefully I can stretch it to play longer in the battlefields for a while to go up in ranks. It seems that Drason will get the KNIGHT title this week if he has enough kills and honor to reward him that title. I believe he has just over 500 team kills this past week. Also during this past weekend I was able to ding Straden to lvl 25 and Azshaeler to lvl 25 and 26. Planning on playing tonight.

Partook of the Deadmines group Friday - my first dungeon encounter in WoW. Had a fun time, although I did cause a spot of trouble when Sagar told me to "go ahead". I thought he meant pull, so I did. He actually meant to mine the tin node nearby that I didn't see. :* We prevailed, but I made sure any future commands meant for me were much ... clearer.

Saturday I played a fair bit, ended up joining a group in Redridge that was grinding through the gnolls. We knocked off several quests before the others went their separate ways. Hooked up with a couple others, repeated a couple of the quests I'd just done for the newcomers, then we knocked off one of the elites I had open. Over the course of the weekend dinged 25 and 26 with the mage and 22 with the hunter.

Sunday swapped over to my Horde shaman when no one else was around. Ground him to 12th and got a little better look at life on the evil side of the street.

Visited my parents this weekend. Rained a bit. Went to the Brandywine Zoo on Sunday. This was a pissant petting zoo when I was 6 years old. Now it has two siberian tigers, a white-nosed coati, a monkey house, and some other interesting animals. They still have a some pygmy goats for petting.

Friday: We went to the zoo, too. The Pittsburgh Zoo was free for the day, so we packed everyone up and had a blast. It's so funny when the animals pose for you while you're taking pictures. We all passed out when we got home and watched a couple more episodes of SG1.

Saturday: I read for the morning and basically did very little. It was great. Then we made dinner and watched some more SG1.

Sunday: Schoolwork. I have a 7 minute presentation on Wednesday on how to handle working from home. I hate public speaking. Got quite a bit done on it and then watched more SG1. We're on Season 6, now and have season 7 waiting. I loved used game & movie stores.

News update on Carol's arm. Because the arm was still hurting more than would be expected, and based on advice from a client, she decided to get it checked out by the doctor.

She's got a potentially very nasty infection in the bite and the infection has started to spread up and down her forearm. She's been put on antibiotics, which hopefully will do the trick, but if they do not, then the doctor is going to admit her for IV antibiotics and surgery on the arm to drain and clean the affected area.

Wish her luck!

The dog did not bite her aggressively. It was not angry. It had been playing with cleo for a couple hours and was excited, and carol started roughing him up and she was a fairly new person, and we think he just went to playfully nip like he had been with cleo and just didn't know his own strength.

Wasn't really being serious. When I was 6, this idiot neighbor kid and his friends were harassing our English Springer Spaniel through the fence to our backyard. There was a bit of a gap at one of the corners, and this dumbass got too close and turned his back. Reggie (our dog) took a big chunk out of his back. He was normally the sweetest dog I've ever been around (the only one never to bite me, actually), but they got him so riled up and spooked that he defended himself.

This moron's family was insistent that he be put down, even though my old man had clear documentation of his rabies vaccination schedule. Fortunately the cops were more levelheaded, and he lived for another 8 years or so.

It was pretty entertaining when my aunt maced their Saint Bernard though (they let it bark all day every day, and she'd just had enough). :lowrazz:

(Please note that I was in no way comparing Caylor and this idiot kid. Just pointing out that people's first reactions seem to be that the dog has to die. It's one thing if the dog is an unknown animal, but people need to think if it's someone's pet.)

Oh, forgot to mention that we got our BSG season 2.5 DVD#1 from Netflix and watched Ressurrection Ship 1 & 2. Gold.

Those bastards on Sci-Fi Channel keep toying with me. There was a great trailer for the Dresden Files on during Doctor Who, but all it said was "Coming Soon." Grrrr.

Saw that! They couldn't at least give somekind of date!?!? Last time they did this was with Earthsea and they started the promos nearly a year before the show was aired!

Hey,

Spent the weekend at work. I've been working a different section, due to a reshuffle related to another nurse p*ssing off a resident. One of my ladies is a paranoid schizophrenic, who is sure that we are trying to kill her in one way or another. She refuses medication - not all of them, but, "I'm not taking this one ... or this one!" (she doesn't have a clue which is which). She is convinced that someone is spraying something through the airvent into her room that is poison, that her roommate is unaffected doesn't faze her.

It seems funny, but, truly, the woman is terrified. She knows, in her own mind, that these things are true and there is no reasoning with her to convince her otherwise. It's a shame.

Otherwise, things are rolling steadily along. I'm accumulating the reserve cash to make the move out of the folks house without having to worry about disaster striking and leaving me in financial trouble. The job folks are happy with my work. The State Board folks are happy with my progress. Cool!

Friday - DNP. Regular monthly faculty meeting after classes, then a faculty cook-out (cleverly titled "Gaze and Graze") at the observatory that evening.

Saturday - DNP. My niece had soccer match at our campus so I watched her play. As their match was ending, the university's women's soccer team was warming up for their match. I decided to stay and watch a bit since one of my students is on the team. My niece wanted to watch as well, so her folks went home and we stayed for the match, then I took her home. Was 10 by time I got home, so I watched a little TV (don't remember what) and went to bed.

Sunday - Spent most of the day doing all of the stuff I planned to do Saturday. Played a little EQ2 in the afternoon and planned to log on later in the evening, but I remembered several things I needed to do for school, so spent the rest of the evening on that.

That's great to hear Biaxin! Keep up the great work! :goodie!:

As if this weren't enough...

She's a nurse. *cough*

Okay, now you've got me thinking... Was it Wakko or Yakko... Who kept on saying that silly phrase... And what did Dot say?

News update on Carol's arm. Because the arm was still hurting more than would be expected, and based on advice from a client, she decided to get it checked out by the doctor.

Ouch! Hope all is good and well, or will be better RSN!

Better get her a really good BD present to offset this minor lil' glitch? ;)

Ugh, nasty. All animal bites and scratches need to be treated with caution 'cause of the vile coctail of bugs they carry around with them. There was an article in the Times last week about a man who nearly lost his hand due to a minor cat-scratch.

Generally there is no difficulty if the problem is recognised early - as it has been here - but nasty situations can arise if the issue is not taken seriously. You really should wash and disinfect any animal wound, no matter how minor, immediately. Not that I do:*

Lol - tried to find the article online, but googling on "cat bite hand amputated" gives 176000 hits.

Thats the thing - we did - we washed it and encouraged it to bleed and put on anti-biotic cream, etc. Even that wasn't enough in this case.

My boss had a similar thing happen a few years ago, and she did end up in the hospital for a few days with the IV antibotics.

Hope everything turns out well. You definitely did the right thing getting to a doctor right away.

Yeah, but you forgot to sear the wound with a red-hot poker!

Bring in a fancy looking night light with a green bulb and tell her it's an air quality monitor. As long as the bulb stays green, she'll be fine. Then one day, just for kicks, slip in a red bulb.

At the end of your shift, of course. Wouldn't want to deal with the resulting fun yourself. :rotflmao:
