EQ2: Zyzzyva started in the Pillars of Flame, killing harpies, cobras, and fire elementals. That got boring quickly, so he moved on to the Barren Sky to see if there was anything there he could solo. Shortly after he arrived there, Cregan offered to help. After grabbing some chests and solving a puzzle for one quest, they moved to the Bonemire. While there, both finished several quests (Shadowgates and Nezumi joined in later).
Experience flowed; Zyzzyva got about 25% of a level while in Barren Sky/Bonemire. He's now a little over halfway through 65. If he can keep that up, there's a chance he can hit 70 by year-end. He now knows which level 65-69 writs to grab so that he can start joining in on the fun in the Bonemire.
EQ1: My Drakkin monk continued exploring the area near his starting city. He found two caves - one with mushrooms, and another with pumas. He's now level 8. He did find one item of note - one of the mushrooms dropped an eight slot 25% weight reduction bag (just what a monk needs  ).
Toontown: The ugly duckling joined a group in an attempt to destroy the Sellbot VP. Alas, he went sad.
WoW: I'll probably get around to reinstalling that by the weekend.
Real Life: Why so blue? My Ravens lost. :frown1:
Also, I'm now working the graveyard shift (for a few weeks) - thus the strange hour at which I'm posting.
I forgot to post this in the weekend thread... I finally managed to catch the WoW-themed South Park episode on Sunday night. I enjoyed it.

Spent the day talking to the police and such. This earned me a call from my brother. Apparently when the police went over to his place, they told him I had talked to them. Now I'm not so impressed with the police.
Re-installed Splinter Cell - Pandora Tomorrow and played that during the afternoon while I was waiting for return calls.

Played a bit. WoW Warlock is now 22 and has a Succubus pet. I'm very impressed with the pet animation. I love the way she inspects her fingernails while idle and the little exclamation of pleasure when she gets hit (why do I never meet girls like that?). The jury is still out on performance.

Went and saw The Departed. Best movie I have seen in a very, very long time.

Leng: I enjoy my Succubus... Depending on where I go, she's my primary pet of choice. :) Even soloing... And the new voice-overs when calling them up is cool! At least, if anything, it breaks up the silence when travelling... And the crack of the whip...
Worked my late shift (12-8) ... Wasn't bad... Had McD for the first time in a very long time. Not sure why I didn't get any Monopoly pieces.
Almost 3/4 finished with Morrigan's Cross (and I started Sunday!?)...
Popped into WoW, the lil' Mage ding'd L26 (yay! After how long?).
Started up GW and planning to make a new character (Tomoe). Probably Ranger (Primary)/Elementalist (Fire/Water based). The dance style of the Elementalist is a bit scary (as her clothing of choice). Figured this combo would be good since I will be soloing for a while (not sure when I'll catch up to the rest of the others if I see them - what's the primary days? Thur?). I've been interested in long range/distance combat anyway so this should work out well. I hope. And the Ranger has more clothing so not as distracting. :D Now to figure out how to transfer money from my old character to the new one... The Warrior/Ranger combo didn't do well for me I think.
Overall, a quiet day... Other than a headache (hrmmm)

Took Kaerik to Warsong Gulch, where we actually won for a change! Then decided to take a break and try a change of pace, so I created a human priest named Acton and got him to level 7. Also watched How I Met Your Mother, Heroes, Studio 60, Two and a Half Men, and CSI Miami.

Great weekend in EQ2. Picked up level 61 (72% in at the moment) and hit 16 Achv.
On Sunday we went to my grandparents to do some turkey day dinner. It was yummy and it's always good to be with family!
Feeling a bit sick today (have a bug, feel like crap) so I'll be doing some sleeping today

DNP. Watched the kids. They wanted to watch some Halloween Disney movie. As usual, it was pretty lame, but I watched it never the less. After they went to bed, I tried to watch the ending of Heroes. I had Ben with me because I had to read to him, but I also wanted to see the end of the show. I thought the show ended before it really did. So, I left before it really ended. Read the Pheonix Saga to Ben for bedtime. Came back, and tried to watch Studio 60 again. I can't see what you guys find entertaining about that show. It's not funny, and there is a lack of drama to it. Instead, I watched CSI Miami. I'm now determined to talk like David Caruso now. ;) :D

I got another good 10mile run in Monday morning.
Then ran several errands (paying for car tag, etc).
Didn't really accomplish much. Started packing for the trip coming this weekend.
Played WoW. For a long time it was just me and Car on the guild. Drason showed up later. Murgos traveled around finishing/advancing a few quests that were deliver this type quests. Got within 44 points of level so went out around Gadgetzen and killed some random mob so I would Ding! Gated to SW and trained some of my skills. Thus releiving Murgos of carrying the burden of all that gold around (sigh).
I am not sure if I'll play tonight or not.

Yes, Thursday. Although there are generally one or two of us on a few other times during the week who can help you along. Did you start in Tyria (Prophecies) or Cantha (Factions)?
I've been interested in long range/distance combat anyway so this should work out well. I hope. And the Ranger has more clothing so not as distracting. :D
You'll probably find that, except for the cheap spammable spells, fire spells will drain your energy pool pretty rapidly. Water magic is much more defensive and probably more energy-efficient.
Now to figure out how to transfer money from my old character to the new one... The Warrior/Ranger combo didn't do well for me I think.
Once you get out of the tutorial area (pre-Searing Ascalon for Prophecies, the Monestary island for Factions), you'll find the Xunlai agents (bankers). The bank accounts are common among all your characters, so just drop items/money in the bank for one character and grab them out with another.

Played a lot of EQ2. Got most of my alts guilded, I finally got Mos to 51, I was in a cazic group in the mid-afternoon/early evening, and then later in the evening I bought a bunch of collection quests, so she is 20% through or so. Did an alt group with people in Fallen Gate which was fun, got Dysis to 27 which was nice, also played a couple of other alts, I remembered I suck at soloing my swashbuckler, I leveled my conjorer to 17 and I worked a bit on tradeskilling with my other toon.
Other then that I didn't do much yesterday though I got to go upstairs a lot to check on how the painting of K's room was going.

Draknor : That was pretty crappy of the cops to tell your brother you called them. On the other hand, it was pretty crappy of your brother to drag your name through the mud to get himself out of trouble, so he deserves it.
DNP last night. Did some work on various Ebay auctions that ended and some I relisted. Watched "Heroes" and recorded "Studio 60".

had the day off from work (fed holiday)
so after taking K to camp, i went and primered his walls before lunch. after lunch, i spent a couple hours painting the walls :o
now doing 10hr days to get my 40. i'm a hourly-wage sub-employee, so i don't get leave for yesterday. i just don't get to bill it :/
went to play some coh in the evening, but the weekend activation was over and i was too lazy to go get my CC (well, and kiir was patching eq2 onto the machine so she can transfer things), so ispent the evening messing with mactheripper and popcorn, trying to figure out what steps i need to go through to get my dvds into itunes. of course, my 80G hdd is 60G full now ... 40 of it with itunes shows ... aparently 640x480 45min is like half a gig a pop. i'm gonna have to start storing my itunes on another drive or something :o

I've been there. I've often thought that if I COULDN'T work (i.e., the building was closed) then I should get paid for it. Or let me work, kthxla~
Um, last night...um...oh, worked on a project for a holiday gift for my Mom while watching some of the Engineering an Empire: Rome thing on history channel. VERY interesting. It was followed by one on Egypt, but I didn't stick around for that one. Finished the project, took Jess to the library where she got all of the Series of Unfortunate Events books (she's now on book 7, reading in order. Oi!) and I picked up a few that I've been looking for. More JD Robb and a couple of her alter-ego, Nora. Came home, yakked with the ex about Christmas gifts when he dropped Ryan off and crashed shortly thereafter.

then you'll love what the old job tried to do to us. govt contractor, we're onsite. govt site is closed due to snow/whatever. they send out a message telling EVERYONE to "stay home, campus is closed. you will NOT be allowed on center"
then the company tells us that, since HQ was open, we're expected to use leave time for the day. since we didn't work. but somehow we never got free leave when HQ was closed and campus was open. b/c then campus is open, we're expected to be at work.
yeah, wonder why i left ;)

oh, if she'd mentioned it when she was here (assuming she was interested then) i coulda loaned you the entire series (minus the end, obviously)
actually, i'm figuring i'm gonna donate them off to the library or sell them to a used book store, so if she wants her own copies to keep, lemme know and i'll hang onto them for her

Worked a full day, but only took credit for half of it, to make up a time-debt I owed my supervisor from last week.
Made a couple errands on the way home, including buying a 4-receiver wireless phone set ($140), to go along with our new Vonage system. Arrived home too late to work outside (we're trying to seed'n'straw our backyard while we still have decent weather, before tonight's impending rainstorm... we didn't make it :frown:), so worked on minor chores while making sure Todd Heap and Matt Stover didn't do enough damage to hurt my team in my non WWTFFL. They didn't. :goodie!:

I've found those books to be annoying after a while. Rebecca and I are trying a new book that's out under Disney. Abadazad. Interesting series so far. Not bad overall. The books are a quick read. I finish one in about an hour or two. I've been told that they were a comic book series that only got to #3. Waiting for the next book.

Took the kids to the office where the 4 1/2 going on 14 broke the ponytail off my Firiona Vie statuette and then I took them to the zoo to run their little legs off... and they ran my little legs off.
Popped them into bed early and sat up with a romance novel & potato chips. Ahh.. the guilty pleasures of life...

Jen had a late meeting so I put the kiddos to bed. They were both pretty zonked out. I logged in to EQ2 and played Aan for a while.
Forgot to say earlier, we watched Monster with Charlize Therone(?) over the weekend. What a disturbing movie. CT did a fantastic job of creeping me out.

lots of work on ozeki, cept for sunday when his vit was gone and he couldn't find any groups. fyi, i can confirm that village of shin quests begin at lvl 50 - oz went up at 49 and they weren't available, but they were when he returned at 50. spent sunday putting a few levels on winston, and brought winston out again yesterday for the alt group we did (btw, lanaris was dancing cause of ozeki's ability to make you pose hehe, was too fun to do while you thought nezumi was the culprit).
much like mos, ozeki finally levelled by turning in some collections but then after he donged he went out to try his new abilities and just went nuts. the coercer lvl 50 ability (most classes get a major new ability at 50 that they didn't have before but that end up becoming a major class definer post 50) is psychic wail (which upgrades at 70 to sonic boom) - it's a PB magic DD that throws over 1k on anything in range, and has a stun that lasts about as long as our encounter stun. so it means i've got 3 types of stuns now, and that means i can almost perma stun anything around (unless i can't throw blue aoes). that combined with the nice damage output now makes ozeki extremely chanter like. so ozeki is very happy. spent 60% of 50 in the war room in clefts tickled ogre pink over his new powers. he kept telling the tank to pull faster, and the tank did, but no matter how fast they came, oz always had them stunned and yet his power bar never dropped below 80%.
in two levels he gets yet another type of stun (a 4th line), a stun reactive which while on a target will stun it anytime it successfully attacks something, up to 3 times in the 30 sec duration. at that point Oz will indeed be able to chain stun like a monster. but alas 55 is needed for the ultimate class definer, which is "amnesia", a hate memory wipe (literally wipes all hate, but leaves a little hate on chanter) that will get oz killed a lot, but is talked about as the ultimate raid saver.
and so this next week or so will be the big push for 55. then life should get much easier as the questing stuff and groupage available to late 50s gets a lot easier/faster than went the early 40s or so.

Been a while . . .
TH - DNP class night
F - DNP out of town on a university writing retreat at a fantastic mountain-top retreat center. After dinner, we met briefly for introductions and initial project plans, then gathered around the fireplace with wine and cheese.
S - worked on writing project and organized project presentation. One of my colleagues and I are planning a team-taught class that focuses on 19th American and British texts; our primary problem at the moment is limiting the number of texts we cover. We're focusing on revolutions, rebellions and the rhetoric surrounding them. Met again for drinks, chat, and music (one of our folks brought his dulcimer).
S - Ugh, little sleep due to the late night; left after breakfast; came home, crashed; got up, graded a set of essays and crashed for the night.
M - Played a bit of EQ2 (SoS with guidies) and planned to return, but decided to work for a bit (not sure why . . .), then watched CSI-Miami.

Pardon me, I said that wrong. I should have said that they spoke to his roommate. Brother wasn't home. But the police informed roommate that I was the caller. Roommate tipped brother off. I'm not exactly thinking clearly right now.

Did you start in Tyria (Prophecies) or Cantha (Factions)?
I'm still in Tyria until I get the Factions/Nightfall order in. Thus the Ranger/Mage combo...
Water magic is much more defensive and probably more energy-efficient.
Aye, was looking at that. Still thought being ranger as primary is a good idea... With the casting of buffs being handy (or slow the critters down).
Thanks for the heads up on the fire...

Yep... Need to work on that and the funding for the opening of the accounts...
i wonder how different the spear chucker will be as compared to the ranger? What would a good combo be, with that one?
Is there a list of complentary professions? No solo professions (pure) overall right? I need to find my GW box/booklets again.

As you approach Ascension in GW, you get a series of quests that will allow you to change you secondary profession essentially at will. I went from N/R to N/E since some of the skill complement each other better. Have also toyed with N/Mo because I'm tired of being so bloody fragile. That combo actually opens up the so called "Immortal 55" build where you willfully reduce yourself to 55 max hit points through high end runes, but have such insane health and mana regens that it's virtually impossible to be killed unless something does > 55 hits in a single blow to you.
