What happens on Wednesday stays on Wednesday. (7-28-10 daily)

Worked. Productive day.

Finished True Blood 2nd season. Read some Maslow.

Tried to make gluten free cornbread with dinner. Going to take some experimenting to make that work. What we got was tasty, but fell completely apart.

Fed snake and lizard. Isis has moved up from pinkies to fuzzies, and should start growing faster now that she is getting more calcium and other nutrients from the more mature mice.

Re: What happens on Wednesday stays on Wednesday. (7-28-10 daily)

Tuesday: Worked, made dinner, babysat a friend's four-year old. Played Erdoc in LOTRO for a short while, finishing the flyswatting deed in the Shire.

Wednesday: I had my normal day off. Slept in, then logged into LOTRO for about an hour. I ran the final quest in the prologue, rescuing a hobbit from a goblin cave and receiving the quest to meet Strider in the Prancing Pony Inn in Bree. After a short bout of cleaning, took the kids to meet the wife for lunch and then on to the local botanical garden. They have a nice interactive children's garden/play area there, and since we're members we try to take the kids there fairly often. Let them run around in between raindrops for a few hours before taking them home. Laundry and more cleaning, followed by dinner. Logged back into LOTRO and finished my last remaining quest chain/deed in the the Shire, recovering a half-dozen spoiled pies. Listed a bunch of crafting materials for sale in the Auction House before heading over the bridge - where I promptly discovered a load of quests in the Old Forest that have delayed my arrival in Bree for the time being. I zoomed out of level 17, through level 18, and into level 19 in just a couple of hours. Two of my auctions sold (11 early third-age trinkets for 150sp, and 5 lots of sienna for 20sp) while I was so engaged.

Re: What happens on Wednesday stays on Wednesday. (7-28-10 daily)

Hey,

Babysat my mom's office again in the morning. Talked to my relocation specialist and set up my temporary housing while I'm down in Charleston in case my apartment isn't ready. Waiting to set up my apartment hunting trip until my corporate credit card gets here. Gonna be a busy couple of weeks, trying to cram that, the wedding, and the drive down to Charleston into a short time frame. But it'll totally be worth it.

Watched America's Got Talent (yay, the s***ty little rapper went home!) and Psych (between this episode and the last season of 24, I'm actually not hating Freddie Prinze, Jr. anymore). Played a little bit of Civ IV before calling it a night.

Worked, took my car in for the Emissions check - they seem to have improved the process. No more spinning tires, revving engines, etc. Just twiddle with the gas cap, plug some sensor in somewhere, start the car a couple of times and it's done. $15 please.

Went to the grocery store after work, had some nice looking minced beef on sale. Made hamburgers for dinner.

Started on book 2 of the Percy Jackson series - heh... they are such quick reads, I'll probably have all 4 read before my niece gets back from holiday with the family.

Wrote up another Comic Con article for mmorpg.com

There are 5 and they're all worth it. Great books, them.

Drove to Cincinnati and back yesterday. I hate that trip anymore. Glad Ryan's home with us now, yay! I'm just happy for that.

Played Assassin's Creed II. Played more Assassin's Creed II. Played still more Assassin's Creed II.

...I didn't do much else yesterday, really. Some cleaning, but mainly AC II.

Home, then out to Mom in law's for chicken dinner. YUM.

Home again, and AGT. Very glad that the dancer got thru. Very glad the biker got through. Not so thrilled on the singer chick - she's ok but of the three, the guy on the right had the more dynamic performances overall, even tho he had a bad day.

Re: What happens on Wednesday stays on Wednesday. (7-28-10 daily)

Work was busy again, tracking down some bandwidth issues.

Got home, cooked dinner, watched TV, conked out. Not much to report except that I woke up early this morning and so banged out my WoW daily before work.

Serani - Five?? Okay. I'll have to obtain the 5th as well then. My niece asked for them a while back, and she knows that if she asks for books, she will always receive. Toys... unlikely. Crafts... maybe. Books... always.

The Last Olympian (book 5) ties up the series. The new one that's come out - Red Pyramid is also very good. It's the start of a new series featuring Eqyptian mythology instead of Greek.

Got home, fell asleep for an hour. Then proceeded to laze around until going to bed.

For whatever reason I still feel like I'm recovering from last weekend.

Re: What happens on Wednesday stays on Wednesday. (7-28-10 daily)

Went to my uncle Charlie's funeral. It is a few years since the last major gathering of the clan (at my dad's funeral) and I was somewhat surprised to find my young cousin Denise is now a grandmother! As funeral's go it was quite a cheerful event - Charlie was a lover of jazz and at his request the final music, played as the curtain closed around the coffin before it was rolled into the crematorium, was the jazz funeral scene from the Bond film Live and Let Die. Charlie was also a notorious clown and I was quite convinced he was going to jump out from behind the curtain when the music changed from somber to joyful!

I was absolutely bushed by the time I got home, though. It was about 2.5 hours drive each way and I haven't had to go a long drive for a long time. It was also very bright and hot and I think I got altogether too much sun. Went to bed early to recover.

The saddest thing about the whole day, for me, was that I took mum with me to the funeral and two hours after we got back she simply had no recall of the event at all.

That's pretty great.

Long day that started with a 3 hour flight delay followed by meetings but ended the night with dinner at Proof. Great food and an interesting place complete with a gallery and unique reading material in the bar.

Are you in Louisville? Proof on Main at the 21c Hotel?

I was (it was hot) and yes it was the Proof on Main.

I was with a customer who likes to take me to new places. I was only in town for one night. Ended up driving to IN to visit a manufacturing site last night and then flew home today.

Fun place. Did you go over by the elevator and see the screen with the falling letters?
